Penn State women’s volleyball's Simone Lee named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

For the first time in her decorated career, Simone Lee has won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

This is the third career Player of the Week award for the senior outside hitter. Lee is also the first Penn State outside hitter in program history to earn this honor.

This distinction for Lee follows a week in which she averaged 4.3 kills and 4.7 digs per set, while recording back-to-back double-doubles to help the top-ranked Nittany Lions defeat Iowa and Maryland.

Against the Hawkeyes, the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native recorded 16 kills, 15 digs, three blocks and was error free on 20 reception attempts to help Penn State hit .
