Penn State beat Purdue in straight sets on Saturday, its second sweep of the Boilermakers after playing them earlier in the season.
Part of the Nittany Lions' energy, coach Russ Rose said, was due to the crowd.
“Purdue came into this match playing better the second half of the Big Ten season than we did, so we’re appreciative of the big crowd tonight, especially with the students being out of town, that was a great reception for the players.”
Middle blocker Tori Gorrell gave the Nittany Lions the first point in the set, but the Boilermakers took the lead with two kills.
