Penn State women's volleyball sweeps Michigan State

In front of a roaring crowd of 3,524 — and two Olympians from the 2016 women's volleyball team — Penn State defended its den in its first conference game of the weekend as the No. 16 Nittany Lions (11-3, 3-0 Big Ten) defeated No. 18 Michigan State (12-3, 1-2 Big Ten) in straight sets (22-25, 20-25, 13-25) on Friday night.

"I thought the energy was better in the gym from the fans and the band than it was from some of our players on our side of the net," coach Russ Rose said. "But I'm always happy when we win a match.
