Penn State women's volleyball falls despite Haleigh Washington's performance

Coach Russ Rose said after Penn State's 3-1 loss to Michigan on Wednesday night that certain players needed to improve for the Lions to get back to their winning ways.

He said he hasn't been pleased with outside hitter Megan Courtney in particular, as last year's NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player has hit .204 after returning from an injury. Her attack percentage dipped to .135 against the Wolverines.

In spite of the loss, however, middle blocker Haleigh Washington had one of her best performances of the season. She hit .714, her highest percentage since the aLions’ win over Wisconsin on Sept.
