In front of an unusually empty Rec Hall, Penn State took its second match of the Penn State Invitational in a win against Howard.
The No. 20 Nittany Lions (7-3) swept the Bison (10-4) in straight sets (25-16, 25-12, 25-16).The Lions now have extended their win streak to five consecutive games.
In the first set, the Lions started strong. Holding the Bison to just nine kills and a hitting percentage of .071, the Lions registered 15 kills and three errors on 29 total attempts with a hitting percentage of .414.
Although the Lions took the second set by a margin of 13, they had to fight early on and it took three lead changes and five tied scores for the Lions to jump ahead.
