After heading into the locker room up 1-0 at halftime, coach Erica Dambach said her team was frustrated with just a one goal advantage.
The No. 14 Nittany Lions had outplayed lowly Michigan St. (5-10, 1-7) in every facet of the game, but Megan Schafer’s 14th minute goal was all they had to show for it entering the break.
But in what has become a common theme for Penn State, the Nittany Lions broke the game wide open in the second half with clever attacking and stern defending, eventually leading to the 4-0 victory.
It was Penn State’s outright control of each aspect of the game which led to its largest win of the season on Senior Day.
