Penn State came into the NCAA tournament knowing that it would need six wins to repeat as national champions.
The Nittany Lions (12-4-4) got the first of those six out of the way on Friday night against Bucknell, winning in big fashion by a score of 6-0.
A big reason for the large margin of victory was the time the team had off the past couple of weeks.
“I think these guys have had an opportunity to get their legs back [and] their minds back,” coach Erica Dambach said. “They’ve played a lot of minutes this season.
