Katie O'Donnell didn't need much extra time to find the net.
After James Madison held the sophomore midfielder scoreless in regulation, O'Donnell scored the sudden-death golden goal just 1:18 into overtime, completing Penn State's comeback from a three-goal deficit to win 18-17. The 18 goals were the Nittany Lions' highest total on the road since March 12, 2014 at Rutgers (19).
The No. 9 Lions (5-1) trailed 17-14 with 7:07 remaining against the Dukes (2-5). However, midfielders Madison Carter, Madison Cyr and Steph Lazo scored within 81 seconds to tie the score and force overtime.
Carter, a freshman, ruled the day for the Lions, scoring six goals.
