It’s been a decade since Penn State last took down Maryland.
That streak continued Thursday night as the top-ranked Terrapins (16-0, 5-0) claimed at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title with a 16-14 win over the Nittany Lions.
Penn State (14-2, 4-1) received dominant performances from its impact players. Sophomore Madison Carter scored six goals, tying a career high, including four in the second half.
Junior Katie O’Donnell scored five goals, and senior Steph Lazo was a playmaker with three assists, while tallying two goals.
Senior goalkeeper Cat Rainone set a new career-high with 15 saves along with having a strong first half with 8 saves.
