Penn State women's lacrosse drops sixth straight loss against No.3 Northwestern

The Nittany Lions faced No. 3 Northwestern at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Fieldhouse.

Penn State dropped a 6th straight loss against No.3 Northwestern with a 16-7 final score. The Nittany Lions had a promising outlook in the third quarter but ultimately could not close out the game.

Northwestern broke the ice first, scoring its first goal off of a free position shot by Emerson Bohlig.

After a struggle to gain offensive momentum in the first quarter, Erika Ho evened out the playing field by scoring Penn State's first goal of the game.

After circling around the cage the Wildcats were able to put up another point, and not long after, Northwestern barreled down after a ground ball to extend its lead to 3-1

Late in the first quarter, Penn State was down to a 5 on 7 player position and was able to fend off two shots on the goal.
