For the second weekend in a row, Penn State has split a series – this time with a conference rival.
After starting early with two goals in the first period, the Nittany Lions (6-14-4, 2-4-4 College Hockey America) netted a third goal in a 3-2 overtime to win the second game of the series against Rochester Institute of Technology (5-18-1, 1-8-1 CHA).
Shannon Yoxheimer scored the first goal of the game only 1:12 into the first period. On a power play with a little over two minutes on the clock, Bella Sutton solidified the Lions’ lead with assistance from Jeanette Bateman and Amy Petersen.
