After Penn State’s starting goaltender Hannah Ehresmann left Friday night’s game with an upper leg injury, sophomore Daniela Paniccia stepped in and produced 24 saves over the next four periods in the homestand against Union.

For her showing against the Dutchwomen, she received the honor of College Hockey America (CHA) Goalie of the Week.

“She has that ability to just get in the net and stop every puck when her name is called” said teammate Shea Nelson after Friday’s win.

Ehresmann left the game after the second period on Friday and did not return to the bench.
