Penn State women's hockey falls to Ohio State in 2016 opener

Despite a goal from freshman Hannah England early in the second period for the Nittany Lions (4-13-4, 1-3-4 College Hockey America), two goals from the Buckeyes (7-12-0, 3-11-0 CHA) pushed them past the Lions for the 2-1 win.

Lauren Boyle netted the first goal seven minutes into the opening period. The Buckeyes held off the Lions and left the period with a one goal lead.

Almost halfway through the second period, England tied the game at one goal, assisted by senior Shannon Yoxheimer and freshman Victoria Samuelsson. However, the Buckeyes responded to the goal with one of their own two minutes later, from Jessica Dunne, to retake the lead.
