Beginning the final stretch of a 12-game road trip, Penn State showed the effects of a long trip in its 3-0 loss to RIT Friday night. Dropping the first of two games over the weekend set the Nittany Lions' record back to 5-14-4 on the season.
The Lions' return to CHA hockey was marred with issues for the team, leaving Friday with a 1-4-4 conference record for the season. Despite the team's 33 shots, the squad's scoreless output was its fourth such result of the season.
Scoring began at 11:36 in the second period by the Tigers' Taylor Thurston, coming on the team's third power play opportunity.
