Penn State women's hockey can't follow up on upset win, falls to No. 6 Ohio State in series finale

A day after an offensive explosion earned Penn State its biggest win of the season, the Nittany Lion offense fell silent.

Penn State lost to Ohio State 2-0 after a powerful offense showing by the Buckeyes. The Nittany Lions move to 5-8-8 overall for the season and 2-8 all time against Ohio State.

The game winning goal came halfway through the second period directly after the Nittany Lions killed their second penalty of the game.

Penn State had a power-play opportunity two minutes and 14 seconds into the game after an Ohio State hooking penalty.

The Buckeyes penalty kill stood strong blocking two shots.
