Penn State women’s hockey assistant coach Alex Dawes helps US women's U-18 team win world championship

International hockey has some great rivalries.

United States vs. Canada without a doubt ranks near the top; countless epic games between great players that will forever be etched in the memories of so many.

Alex Dawes, an assistant coach and director of hockey operations at Penn State, was involved in one of the latest installments of the great rivalry.

He was on the coaching staff in the gold-medal game of the 2016 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship where the United States skated off the ice in St. Catharines, Ontario victors with a 3-2 overtime decision.
