Penn State women’s gymnastics defeated George Washington and Clemson in the GW Tri-Meet on Sunday, scoring a season-high 196.675.

Clemson wasn’t far behind with a 196.475, and George Washington finished in third with a 195.250.

The win pushed Penn State to 11-6, bouncing back after the disappointing outing in the Big 4 meet a week ago.

Despite facing numerous injuries, the blue and white came to play in the nation’s capital, scoring a 49.000+ in every rotation.

The underclassmen were the difference makers for Penn State, as nine new career highs were set, with a majority of them being from freshman and sophomore gymnasts.
