The Penn State women's golf team began their 2016-17 season on Sunday with a 6th place finish in the stroke play qualifying of the East-West matches hosted by Michigan. The Lions will be in the consolation bracket for the match play portion of the event on Monday and Tuesday. They will face Nebraska on Monday in the match play portion of the tournament.

"Everyone had a lot of really good things happen today but we also had some slip ups," coach Denise St. Pierre said. "They all struggled with the greens, they were playing much faster than what we have been playing at home.
