Penn State was finally back on the course Friday, easing into the 2016 Spring season while holding strong at the Notre Dame-hosted Clover Cup. The team finished the first round of competition at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona, staying in the mix by tying for ninth at a 13-over team score.
Teeing off with a member of second-place SMU, freshman Jackie Rogowicz took a leading role in her first outing of the spring. Rogowicz wasted little time getting into form, birdying on the par-4 fourth and fifth holes. After repeat back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th, Rogowicz finished with an even, team-best score of 72, tying for 13th place in the massive field.
