In a season without many positives to look at on the scoreboard, Gracie Merkle has crafted many strong performances for Penn State on the court.
On Sunday, the 6-foot-6 Bellarmine transfer scored 28 points in Penn State’s 75-68 loss to Wisconsin.
Merkle established herself down low from the opening tap to the final buzzer in her efficient 13/17 outing from the field. Merkle added 12 total rebounds, her other statistical strong suit this season.
“I thought (Merkle) did a great job inside and our team did a phenomenal job getting the ball inside,” coach Carolyn Kieger said.
