After a disappointing double-overtime loss, coach Coquese Washington, guard Lindsey Spann and forward Kaliyah Mitchell came into the media room at the Bryce Jordan Center with pouting faces before slumping into the chairs in front of their respective microphones.
Mitchell had tears in her eyes and could not get a word out.
“Basketball is an emotional game, and you put a lot of heart and put a lot of effort and soul into the game,” Washington said. “When you have a finish like this, where you feel like you let one slip through your fingers, it’s tough.
