Penn State women’s basketball falls to Radford in opening round NIT thriller

The notion that basketball is a game of runs was showcased Thursday night when Penn State matched up against the Radford Highlanders in the first round of the NIT.

It seemed like whenever one team would go on a run, the other team would answer with a run of their own.

The Highlanders were able to make the last run of the game, which gave them the final push to come out on top by a score of 63-62 in overtime.

Sophomore guard Amari Carter put on shooting clinic early on, knocking down five of the Lady Lions’ first seven points on one 3-pointer.
