Even though Penn State trimmed Minnesota’s lead to two points late in the third quarter, the Lady Lions could not pull out their second conference victory.
Unable to keep up, the Lions (6-7, 1-1 Big Ten) fell 98-85 to the Golden Gophers (9-4, 1-1 Big Ten) on Sunday at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Despite the loss, Lindsey Spann contributed seven 3-pointers to her career-high 30-point game. The redshirt sophomore scored the most points for Penn State since Maggie Lucas reached the 32-point mark against Indiana in the 2013-14 season. The seven 3-pointers were also the highest since Lucas had eight in the same season.
