Despite a strong effort from Teniya Page and an energized Bryce Jordan Center crowd for the 10th Annual Pink Zone Game, Penn State couldn't quite overcome the hot shooting of Michigan on Sunday in a narrow 91-87 defeat.
Senior guard Brianna Banks opened up the scoring with a jumper, followed by Page who scored the team's next four points to give the Lady Lions a 6-5 lead. The Wolverines countered that by hitting a 3-pointer on the next possession and never trailed again in the game.
The Wolverines (11-6, 3-3 Big Ten) ended the first quarter on an 18-8 run to take control of the game after the Lions (6-11, 1-5) took that 6-5 lead.
