Michigan senior guard Katelynn Flaherty broke the school's 3-point record on Thursday. Netting 10 3-pointers on the night, Flaherty topped Kate Thompson’s record of seven 3-pointers in 2013 at Northwestern.
This record night from Flaherty was simply too much for Penn State to overcome, as the the Wolverines topped the Lady Lions 89-69.
No. 21 Michigan came out firing, scoring 15 points in the first three minutes of Thursday's contest. This early surge was led by Flaherty, who netted two 3-pointers early on.
A timeout by Penn State head coach Coquese Washington with 6:56 left to play following a 15-5 run to start the game failed to stem the tide.
