Penn State traveled to Evanston, Illinois this past Saturday and came up just short of beating the 21st ranked Northwestern Wildcats, losing 23-21. After playing so well offensively for two straight weeks, Penn State fell back into old habits and looked listless for most of the first half before getting on track in the second half. However, a late field goal from the Wildcats sealed Penn State’s fate.
There were some good moments in the game. Running back Saquon Barkley continued to shine and play beyond his freshman self. Also, Carl Nassib earned the school’s single season sack record so hats off to him.
