Today's Penn State football news headlines feature a true freshman earning high praise and a happy Pat Narduzzi with the way his Pitt team is practicing this week.
The Lions played three true freshmen in their 52-0 win over Akron. Lamont Wade and Tariq Castro-Fields got their feet at cornerback. Yetur Gross-Matos also got a run at defensive end and earned praise from James Franklin for his performance, according to John McGonigal of the Centre Daily Times. Gross-Matos logged two tackles and a quarterback hurry in his Lions debut.
"He's probably not ready yet, but we got him in," Franklin told the CDT.
