Penn State hinted this morning that its Sept. 30 home game against Indiana would celebrate "generations of greatness" and called it "the ultimate throwback game." The program offered more clarity this afternoon on what that might mean for the Lions' uniforms. Spoiler alert: there will be no pink and black.
The alterations instead will be more subtle with original block numbers from the 1950s and '60s, a white stripe on the jersey sleeves, numbers on the helmets, a gray facemask, blue stripes on the pants, striped socks and white cleats. The look pays tribute to Penn State teams from the 1950, '60s and '70s.
