Penn State track and field's Malik Moffett, head coach John Gondak earn Big Ten awards

Penn State continues to bring in the hardware.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Big Ten conference announced Penn State's Malik Moffett and John Gondak were recipients of championship honors.

After securing the gold medal and a school record with his NCAA-No. 6 long-jump mark of 26 feet-3 inches (8.00 meters), Moffett was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships.

Only former Nittany Lion throwers Darrell Hill and Joe Kovacs have earned this award before Moffett.

Gondak was also unanimously named the Big Ten Coach of the Year after leading the Penn State men's program to its first Big Ten title in program history.
