Penn State track and field's Colin Abert and Bryce Williams named Big Ten Athletes of the Week

Among several solid performances at the Nittany Lion Challenge last weekend, Penn State's Colin Abert and Bryce Williams stood out.

Both Nittany Lions earned Big Ten Male Athlete of the Week distinctions after turning in school-record breaking performances.

Abert won the mile run with a time of 4:02.50. He is now the meet-record holder in the event, and looks to continue his stride over to this upcoming meet at Clemson University.

Williams's second attempt in triple jump was monumental, as he broke the program record with a jump of 16.24 meters.

With both athletes starting their season on the right foot, Penn State looks to build off its success at the Clemson Invitational, to be held Jan.
