Penn State track and field struggles at NCAA Indoor championship

After two days of competition featuring nine Penn State athletes competing in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, only one came out as a First Team All-American.

Junior pentathlete Maddie Pitts started things on Friday morning with the 60-meter hurdles, earning third place with a personal-best 8.38.

In the next event, Pitts fell from her third place following her high jump performance, jumping 1.63 meters for 13th place.

Pitts pushed her performance in the shot put, where she threw 11.90 meters for 10th place. Another personal best in the long jump gave Pitts a seventh-place finish, jumping 6.
