GLENDALE, Ariz. – If Saquon Barkley was making his final appearance with Penn State Saturday at the Fiesta Bowl against Washington, he went out in style.
Barkley, who has a year of eligibility left but is widely expected to enter the NFL draft, rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries in the Nittany Lions’ 35-28 victory against Washington at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Ninety-two of those yards came on a scoring run the second quarter, tying the school record held by Blair Thomas and Bill Belton and the longest ever by a Penn State player in a bowl game.
