Penn State swimming begins spring semester with tough day at North Carolina

To start off spring season, the men’s team had a tough loss against UNC 190-105, as well as falling to Navy 189-111. However, despite getting outmatched by UNC 200-91, the women’s squad managed to beat Navy 181-118.

The top performer was freshman Camryn Barry, who took the gold in the women’s 500 freestyle. Barry finished with an impressive time of 4:53:63.

Adding to her victory in the 500-free, Barry teamed up with senior Niki Price and junior Katrina Kuhn to finish second in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:28:32.

On the men’s side, four players fell just short of first place in a race, three of them being underclassmen.
