Penn State swimming and diving entered Day 2 of the annual Ohio State Invitational on Friday, Nov. 22, with an opportunity to climb the leaderboard following a competitive opening day.
After Thursday’s events, the Nittany Lions men’s team held fifth, while the women’s squad sat sixth. Despite trailing in the standings, Penn State found promise with three NCAA "B" cuts, setting the stage for a strong push onto Day 2.
The blue and white carried this foundation and momentum into the prelims, as several swimmers achieved personal bests and advanced to the evening finals.
Notably, Margaret Markvardt — one of the Nittany Lions' standout performers this season — set two new personal bests in the 100 back and 100 fly.
