After a 45-minute delay, the game got rolling.
Penn State turned to freshman pitcher Abigail Britton to start on the mound, while Minnesota countered with junior Sydney Schwartz.
The Golden Gophers took the lead at the top of the first inning. Britton opened the game walking Margaret Tobias and following up hitting Taylor Krapf with a pitch.
