After two disappointing days of play on Friday and Saturday, Penn State went into its game Sunday morning 1-3 on the weekend. But in its final contest against UMass, the team managed to finish its play in the Red and Blue Classic on a high note.
The Nittany Lions (9-10) secured the 7-4 win in a comprehensive effort generated from a strong pitching and defensive effort, which kept the Minutewomen (4-9) to only scoring a total of four runs.
Freshman Maddie Seifert started for the Lions, allowing five hits and three runs in the first three innings.
