On Sunday evening, Penn State softball played its second game of the day. Following a win against Fairfield, coach Clarissa Crowell’s unit had a chance to finish the Penn State Invitational undefeated, exceed past the .500 mark and extend its winning streak to five games.
Penn State secured a 13-0 victory thanks to an impressive batting performance, which was highlighted by 15 hits.
Mady Volpe entered the circle to begin the game for Penn State, marking her second start of the day and ninth this season.
The Leopards started inside the circle with freshman Sophia Alvarez-Backus, who recorded her eighth start of the year and had a chance to recover from her disastrous 11.
