Penn State Softball returned to Beard Field on Tuesday evening for its second series in Happy Valley this season.
In Penn State’s homecoming, it defeated Bucknell 8-0 in five innings.
Clarissa Crowell opted for Mady Volpe to start inside the circle, while Bucknell chose Madison Roukey.
Volpe dished three straight balls to start the game, and while the first batter grounded out, these control issues continued.
The following two batters singled. During these at-bats, Volpe again struggled with control, notching five balls in eight pitches.
The Lansdale, PA native walked another to load the bases before a double play ended the first-inning scare.
