Despite Penn State getting out-hit 8-5 in the opening game of its doubleheader with Bucknell on Wednesday night, sophomore Mollie Sorenson stepped to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with a chance to win her team the game.
The sophomore wouldn't waste the opportunity, sending the pitch through the middle and scoring senior Macy Jones to give her team the 2-1 win.
The Lions (21-17) used the momentum of the game one heroics by Sorenson to catapult them to a 4-1 win in game two as well, completing the sweep of the Bison (21-16).
The Lions couldn’t muster much offensively in the game one’s first five innings.
