On Sunday morning, Penn State softball took the field in sunny Tampa, Florida, with a chance to win the Fonseca Memorial Tournament at USF.
The Nittany Lions finished 1-2 in the opening games of the round-robin tournament, earning the No. 3 seed and a matchup against No. 2 seed St. Johns. The blue and white won, setting up a game against the No. 1 seeded hosts, USF, in the final.
Penn State lost to USF 1-0.
USF posed a significant challenge, showcasing a lineup where the first four batters entered batting over .400 for the season.
