Penn State has settled a pending lawsuit against former defensive coordinator Bob Shoop.
As part of the settlement, Shoop, who spent the 2014 and 2015 on the Penn State coaching staff, will recognize the obligations under his employment contract with the school. Terms of the settlement were not released.
In June, Penn State announced it would sue Shoop for breach of contract, claiming he owed $891,856 for not complying with the conditions of his buyout. Shoop's contract stated he would owe Penn State 50 percent of his remaining base salary if he didn't become a head coach at another program within a year of leaving the school.
