Penn State released some roster news on Tuesday as the Nittany Lions inch closer to the unofficial midway point of summer, Lift for Life, on Saturday in State College.
Receiver Brandon Polk, who appeared in just three games a year ago and recorded two catches for 18 yards, has been granted a redshirt year and is now considered a redshirt sophomore instead of a true junior. It's believed that the redshirt was of the medical variety and given by the NCAA, but that was not clear as of early Tuesday afternoon.
Head coach James Franklin said in mid-November that Polk was out for the year due to injury, but did not specify what the injury was.
