Penn State RB Barkley tries to stay cool under the spotlight

Director of Performance Enhancement Dwight Galt called him “special.”

Coach James Franklin termed him “rare.”

Redshirt junior tackle Andrew Nelson said he is “a freak.”

Saquon Barkley referred to himself as “a normal guy.”

That’s basically Barkley in a snapshot.

The sophomore running back broke a 32-year-old freshman season rushing record with 1,076 yards last season, scoring seven touchdowns in 182 rushing attempts and earning a starting spot as for the last six games of the season.

Not bad for someone whose goal coming in was just to play at all as a freshman.
