On Saturday the Penn State Nittany Lions played arguably their best all-around game of the James Franklin Era. Penn State improved to 7-2 overall on the year, 4-1 in the Big Ten, with a 39-0 victory over Illinois to improve to 6-0 on the season at home. There was a lot of good things about the Week 9 win, but here are the picks for players of the game.
Offense, Quarterback Christian Hackenberg
Penn State’s junior quarterback continued his strong play. The Nittany Lions all-time leading passer completed 21 of 29 pass attempts, four of his eight incompletions were passes that were right on the money and dropped, for 266 yards and two touchdown passes.
