UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There’s no hiding Penn State’s problems on offense and no way to look past the unit’s 344.3 yards per game, which puts the offense at 103 of the 127 teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
Penn State has surrendered 19 sacks (112th in FBS) and the Nittany Lions’ 31 percent on third-down conversions (120th) continue to hinder the offense. Playing to minimize mistakes has limited the offense’s ability to move the ball downfield consistently, something Penn State will need to do Saturday night at No. 1 Ohio State.
Though the defense is ranked 10th in FBS, the offense is struggling to find its footing for the second year in a row.
