UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There’s plenty of youth in the Penn State running back’s room where three redshirt freshmen and two freshmen are trying to pick up the offense, improve in pass protection and leave this camp after making a favorable impression.
All of a sudden redshirt junior Akeel Lynch, who emerged last season to lead Penn State in rushing yards (678) and carries (147), finds himself dishing out advice to the youngsters.
“He’s like their stepfather out there on the field,” wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton said Wednesday after practice. “All I see is young dudes, redshirt freshmen, freshmen behind him, he’s the only old guy.
