Throughout the match, Jalen Penrose’s performance was reflected by Penn State’s momentum in a five-set win against Ball State.
As the leader in points and in errors, Penrose was a major factor in the outcome of each set. When Penrose was doing poorly, Penn State dropped the set. When he played a clean game, Penn State found victory.
Penrose started out the match with a service error.
Penn State’s defense began the match unprepared and let balls drop between players. After a few rallies, the Nittany Lions tightened their defense as they got into the groove of the game.
