Penn State handed NJIT its first home loss of the season in a five-set showdown Friday night, tallying its second EIVA win of the conference season.
The Highlanders maintained the lead for most of the first set. With the Nittany Lions playing catch up instead of setting their own pace, they were forced to dig themselves out of an early hole, which motivated them to continue working in the second and third sets, building off some key errors by the Highlanders.
NJIT’s well-rounded attack game sustained the team through some tough streaks of attack and service errors.
