The Nittany Lions’ goal of going undefeated in the EIVA will be tested this weekend by one of the teams that ruined its perfect conference record last season.
Despite winning back the EIVA title last season, Penn State knew it had still left some points out there on the court.
Its 21-11 season record included three conference losses — two of which were to Sacred Heart, a team Penn State had crushed the season before.
The frustration of the losses still lingered well past the season end.
The weekend before the 2018 season started, libero Royce Clemens and outside hitter Frank Melvin said they were looking forward to the Sacred Heart game because it left a sour taste in their mouths.
