Penn State came into Friday night’s match against Sacred Heart looking to defeat a team that had bested the Nittany Lions twice last season.
With a four set win over Sacred Heart, Penn State found its vengeance.
“That match was like going to the dentists office,” coach Mark Pavlik said. “You sit through there and wait for the drill, I was tense all match long."
The Nittany Lions came out of the gate with a little extra juice to start the first set, going on a 5-0 run that forced the Pioneers’ hand at a timeout.
